Beginning Quilting – Wednesdays, 6 to 9 p.m. Instructor: Cathy Forsyth Cost: $150.00 In the Beginning Quilting class, you will learn elements of fabric selection and preparation, cutting, sewing that perfect ¼” seam, sashing, quilting and binding. Additional machine and technique tidbits will enhance your learning experience. Linda Ward’s One Night Stands Second Thursday of each month, 6:30 to 9:30 p.m., as follows: January 12, February 9, March 9, May 11 Cost: $25.00 each night, payable in advance of class Linda’s classes are always lively! So much so, that her last class asked that she spotlight different techniques once a month. Each class is independent of the previous or the next, thus the name “One Night Stand” was created. One month you may learn bobbin work, another you may learn how to fancy up a border…in any event, you are bound to find humour and learning in Linda's One Night Stands. Eldon Instructor: Linda Ward Cost: $150 Schedule varies in order to provide students with the time required to sew the necessary elements, as follows: Saturday, January 14, 1 to 4 p.m. Linda will provide direction on how to utilize scrap fabric or what to consider in purchasing metered fabric. Saturday, January 28, 1 to 4 p.m. Linda will provide direction on how to make the stars within the quilt Saturday, February 11, 1 to 4 p.m. This week, the lesson will be focused on Log Cabin blocks within the quilt. Once this week’s lesson is complete, you will have a bit of a break in order to put together the quilt for the Grand Finale Saturday, March 4, 11 to 4 p.m. Grand Finale – show off your finished quilt – yay! Quilting Next Steps Thursdays, 6 to 9 p.m., as follows: January 19, 26, February 2, 16, 23, March 2 Instructor: Denise Phillips Cost: $150 Once you are ready to tackle something beyond the basics, let Denise challenge you with the Next Steps by introducing techniques that will provide more interest to your quilts. Wonky Zig Zag Saturday, January 21, 10 to 4 p.m. Instructor: Linda Hurd Cost: $100 Join Linda to learn an efficient and vibrant way to use up your scraps and make this very popular quilt. Pattern will be handed out in class. Mini Quick Curve Ruler Saturday, February 25, 10 to 4 p.m. Instructor: Linda Hurd Cost: $100 This is a great introduction to sewing with curves. The Mini Quick Curve ruler provides lots of options to create great curves. Ruler not included with class price. Quilt as you Go Saturday, March 25, 10 to 4 p.m. Instructor: Linda Hurd Cost: $100 Linda provides great instruction on how to put your quilt blocks together using a quilt as you go method, thereby eliminating the drag of free motion quilting a large quilt. Free Motion Mastery in 30 Days, based on a book by Renae Merrill Thursday evenings, 6 p.m. to 9 p.m., March 30 to May 18 Instructor: Linda Ward Cost: $150 Warning: this class is a time commitment and straddles a few months to provide you with the best options for success. Please note that we have built in extra time for all the tips and tricks that Linda provides throughout the class. Based on the book “Free Motion Mastery in a Month” by Renae Merrill, Linda will guide you through learning options to get you comfortable with free motion quilting. At the end of the series of classes, you will actually enjoy free motion quilting – REALLY! Square in a Square Technique Saturday, April 15, 10 to 4 p.m. Instructor: Linda Hurd Don’t like math? Yeah, neither does Linda. But she has found a great ruler and guide book to make it so you don’t have to think through the block-making process. Come check out the Square in a Square technique while learning the “Constellation” block.
